Enjoy this surprising and complete itinerary in which we will show you the history of Freemasonry and its privileged relationship with Barcelona through politics, society, culture and fine arts.
The itinerary starts at Casa Xifré and continues in “Ciutat Vella” district through the old church of the Templar Knights, the church of Sant Just and Pastor, the Convent of San Agustín and the Ciutadella Park. It culminates with a complete visit to the Arús Public Library in Paseo San Joan.
Theatralized and dramatized tour with actor as Rossend Arús -man of culture and freemason- and actress as Clotilde Cerdà, musician and member of masonic societies and daughter of Barcelona’s urban planner Ildefons Cerdà.

Our Masonic itinerary runs through the Ciutadella Park, the former venue of the International Exhibition of 1888 to talk about urbanism and Freemasonry and the Congress of Spiritualism from that year. Through our walk in the Born and Gòtic districts we will discover topics such as the hermetic symbols of the convent of St. Augustine, the Napoleonic invasion and Freemasonry, the esotericism of the 18th century and the visit of Count Cagliostro and the mysteries of the Knight Templars. We will finish our tour at the Arús Library, an institution dedicated to the memory of Rossend Arús, with an extraordinary Masonic-inspired decoration and a collection of original pieces from various lodges. This tour is a unique opportunity to rediscover an institution that has often changed the course of art, science, architecture and philosophy.
The tour can be extended by visiting a private historic house in the Paseo San Joan area (subject to availability), where our participants can enjoy a glass of cava and a mentalism show inspired by secret societies and spiritism in 19th century Barcelona.
